Hi y'all, I'm Charissa. The mama behind @growingupBenson on instagram. I have a handsome husband and two gorgeous little girls ages one and two and a half. Yes, very close in age--they're 20 months apart.

One day while still living in Dallas, Texas, I decided I wanted to start a blog. I named it @TexasMomJeans and had my sister take my pictures. We moved to coastal North Carolina a few months later and I felt the name was no longer fitting, so I changed it to my oldest daughters name @OliviaJeanBlog, which, was cute, but confusing to people (many thought MY name was Olivia) and when Oakley came along, I felt that dreaded #momguilt bubbling up inside of me whispering to change the name once again. So, here we are three names later with @growingupBenson (and no more kids to feel like they got excluded, ha ha!) I felt the name was fitting since most days I no longer put on makeup or wear anything fancy. Truly this page is about our family GROWING UP! It's been a long time coming--too long, arguably.
What you'll find here: My passions are healthy food, I still fully embrace and enjoy style when I am able, I love decorating and constantly changing my home, and my family! I love Jesus and try to make church a priority, though, in this season of life, it's tough to always get there so most Sundays we find ourselves watching our former Texas church on TV while enjoying brunch so the baby can nap. I love to travel, so you'll see a lot of that on here. We live far from family so we go to see them a lot, which, to me, doesn't fully count as travel, but hey, I'll take it. As a stay-at-home mama, anything that gets us out of the house and on an adventure is a win in my book!
